St. Bernard Recovery Awareness

Our primary mission is to assist residents of St. Bernard Parish who are suffering with substance use and mental health issues.  To advocate for prevention, treatment and community resources that embrace long term recovery and to utilize a consortium of community resources to identify and eliminate barriers within the mental health system that impede one’s journey of recovery.

Robert Fezekas II

SBRA President

My name is Rob Fezekas II president of St. Bernard Recovery Awareness. My sobriety date is March 6, 2009. Recovery to me means another opportunity at life. It's an opportunity to be a husband to my wife Shea, a father to my son Trip, a brother to my sister Tara and Tricia, a son to my parents Bonnie and Bob Fezekas. One of the greatest gifts of recovery is the ability to give back to the magnificent community of St. Bernard Parish where I was born and raised, and to give hope to those who are still sick and suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues.

Jack Lafitte

SBRA Vice-President

My name is Jack Lafitte. I am a recovering addict. I did not know I was an addict until I got sick and tired of living the way that I was. I became willing to do something about it. There is HOPE after DOPE! If you want what we have, you have to do what we do. My clean date is September 16, 1997.

Tia Serigné

SBRA Treasurer

My name is Tia Serigne, I have not had a drink since July 30th, 2008. What recovery from alcohol means to me is a second chance. Recovery gave me the ability to make better choices for myself and gave me a life worth living!

James Terluin

SBRA Secretary

My name is James Terluin I'm in recovery from alcohol and drugs. My sobriety date is December 12,2014. My passion in recovery is helping others and service work. To watch a person recover from addiction and get their family back is the blessings of recovery.
